A new and improved website for Argentina Travel.

The site was huge! With many different sections and a lot of information, it needed an update and redesign. So that’s what we did. We specially focused on the improvement of the interface design to make sure the site offered the best user experience.

Argentina is the second-largest country in South America after Brazil, the fourth-largest country in the Americas, and the eighth-largest country in the world. With such a vast extension, it offers countless touristic activities for all tastes and ages. Argentina Travel is a website that depends on the Ministerio de Turismo y Deporte de la Nación and the Instituto Nacional de Promoción Turística. The main aim of the website is to provide clear and accurate information about the many touristic options the country offers in order to help position Argentina as a tourist destination. The site offers all information related to touristic activities such as sites to visit, accommodations and transportation.

The first step consisted of an extensive and exhaustive research, analysis and diagnosis of the site. The inquiry included the analysis of the site metrics, in order to know the number of visitors (audience), where traffic originated from and find out which devices visitors browse this website on. The extensive analysis and diagnosis of the site’s metrics allowed us to know that most entries were from desktop, and that most visitors were located in Argentina, then Brazil, Chile and the USA. 

As part of this first phase we did benchmarking research, determined and defined the target and made an exhaustive review of the site. We needed to identify its weak and strong points to know the improvements that needed to be done. This phase also included a redesign of the sitemap.

The analysis and the research phase was detailed and extensive.

After the analysis we saw that the old site’s navigation was unclear, the different sections in the home page were not well displayed and categorized and some links didn’t work. We also identified problems in the search engine and menu. We knew we had a lot of work ahead of us, so the second part of the project was dedicated to the redesign and development of the site. As one of the improvements we made we upgraded the website’s menu and sections in order to enhance the user’s navigation of the site. As one of the new features of the site we included a map of all the provinces and regions to provide better access to the information.

We dedicated a lot of our time on the design and customization of all the web components. This allows administrators to edit or replicate the content in a very simple, fast and easy way. One of the main features of the page were the images of landscapes and natural scenarios. The photographs were so captivating that they were used as inspiration for the color pallets. 

We also worked on improving the hero header, where we included call to actions to better the experience.
